Arrival in Spain
Getting to Spain was a little bit hectic. We arrived, finally at Frankfurt after hours of flying - only to discover that we had a hour and half trip to Frankfurt-Hahn, from where our flight to Santander in Spain took off from. (Yes, Jono - you did warn!!).
So we found a hotel in Frankfurt-Hahn, took a bus there and stayed the night. This was a tiny little hamlet, that used to be an old airbase, converted now into a mini-airport. So we had a taste of Germany.
View to the right of our pension - market (mercado) below us.
We arrived yesterday safely in Santander. Found a gorgeous little pension, 3 floors up. Lovely friendly people.
Rod´s socks drying - market below.
Today we spent preparing for our trip. Posting our extra goods off to Gijon, buying a camera (another story - do not ask!!!), going to albergue to ask questions, et al.
We visited a lovely catherdal, where a lovely guide, Fernando took us on a tour. It was his first on the job, with the challenge of speaking English, which he did brilliantly.
Tomorrow we are finally off on our pilgrimage.

You'll both be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound when you return from all that exercise... whew... i'm getting fitter just reading about your walk.
